Balance Engineering’s Equilibrate Balance System technology is included in a new nursing-rehab facility to open in Schenectady NY. The new Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre is scheduled to open on September 10, 2013.

March 27, 2013: Balance Engineering LLC (Henrietta, NY) announces that it has recently placed its EQUILIBRATE SYSTEM for human balance, ability, skill and postural assessment with The Micheli Center For Sports Injury Prevention in Waltham, Massachusetts for use in their work to assist in intervention of sports related injuries. The goal of the research and work at The Micheli Center is to create evidence-based sports injury prevention. The Center is developing strategies to help reduce the personal risk of athletic injury for young athletes as they prepare for a healthy future in sports. In assessing ways to prevent injuries, they are working towards revealing injury patterns and risk factors that will assist in developing new methods, strategies and technology. During the 2013 Super Bowl, an announcer made a statement that prompted a new web site focused on women’s and girl’s sports concussion. In just a few weeks, the impact has been profound.
How prevalent are falls and how frequently do they occur in American society? An older American is treated in an emergency room for a fall every fifteen seconds. How many falls will take place while you have a morning cup of coffee? Should we work to prevent these falls? One in three elder Americans, aged 65 or above, had a fall last year. Clinicians believe we should work harder towards identification of fall risk and intervention to decrease the rate of falls in older adults and the resulting consequences.
