Senior Care

“Identifying and educating seniors who may be at risk for falls is one of our agency’s primary goals. The community’s cooperative use of the Balance Engineering System to screen at risk seniors have helped us intervene and decrease falls in our community. This system has enabled us to work with our local hospital, home health care agencies and long term care facilities. In many cases we were able to identify seniors who needed additional physical therapy and/or adaptive equipment that helped them stay safe in their own homes. This system has proven ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Sports Concussions

"My 15 year old stepson had 4 concussions in approx. 18 months. Each time he had a concussion the Dr. would clear him to return to play again but I thought it was too soon. I could tell by his slower reaction time and his balance that his brain was not back to normal. It wasn't until after his 4th concussion that I was introduced to Balanced Engineering's Equilibrate system and it totally changed my perspective on things. When the first test was completed I was shocked to see how "unbalanced" my stepson was and how low his scores were. I was truly convinced he should not have returned to play sports so soon. Over the next few months my stepson showed great improvement in his test scores and in how he was acting at home. As I saw him physically improve, the test scores showed his changes. If we had performed such a detailed, yet simple test earlier, there is no way I would have let him get back to sports when he did and thus receive additional concussions. I was grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Balance Engineering; I would recommend them, not just for helping with concussions, but any type of balance issues."
